Healing From GodSample

After spending time helping crowds of people, Jesus went to Peter’s house. There, He found Peter’s mother-in-law in bed with a fever. Without saying much or doing anything dramatic, Jesus simply touched her hand—and right away, the fever was gone. She got up and started serving Him.
This short story shows how kind and powerful Jesus is. He didn’t just help people in big public places. He also cared about people in their homes and families. His love and healing were personal.
Back then, a fever wasn’t something people could treat easily like we can today. It could be very serious, even deadly. Also, many people believed that being sick meant you had done something wrong. It brought shame. But Jesus didn’t shame her. He simply healed her and gave her strength again.
Right after she was healed, she got up and served Jesus. That’s an important detail. Her healing wasn’t just to make her feel better—it gave her the ability to help and bless others.
This can be a picture of our spiritual lives, too. Sometimes, we feel tired, discouraged, or like we’ve lost our purpose. But Jesus can touch our hearts and give us strength again—not just so we feel better, but so we can live with purpose and help others.
Also, when one person is healed or restored, it can bless many people. Her healing led to service—and that service made a difference for others.
Respond to God’s Word:
Do you need Jesus to bring healing or strength into your life—not just so you feel better, but so you can serve again? Have you been given strength by God but haven’t used it yet?
Next Step:
Take a moment today to pray. Ask Jesus to help you in any area where you feel weak—whether it’s your body, your emotions, or your spirit.
Then, this week, look for one simple way to serve someone—maybe by helping, encouraging, or being kind. Like Peter’s mother-in-law, let your healing lead to helping others.
