Strong and Steady

We may face unfamiliar trouble as we enter the grandparenting stage of life. As our children grow and potentially marry, we navigate having new members of our family. The dynamics we are used to shift as we welcome in-laws and spouses. Then, as grandchildren enter the world, we learn how to support our children as they learn to parent for the first time. We must find the balance of supporting them as parents while also stepping back and allowing them to learn and grow on their own. Then, as we get older, we deal with the challenges that come with aging. We might face physical limitations, health concerns, and all of the emotions that come with getting older.

New seasons bring new challenges, but we are never alone. No matter what we face, God is steady and unchanging. He is just as present in our later years as he was in the beginning of our faith. There is never a point when he decides that we don’t need his help. Just because we are the most mature members of our family doesn’t mean we need to depend on him any less. He longs to strengthen us and keep us steady. He wants us to lean on him through every new challenge and responsibility we face.

God is your rock, your shield, and your defender. He remains faithful through every season of your life. He knows exactly what you need and will protect you in times of trouble. You can rely on him because he is trustworthy and strong. He has proven himself time and time again. When you run to him, he will not fail you. No matter how foreign this season feels, God is your saving strength. He is unchanging, and he will continue to walk with you no matter what you are facing.
