Ways to Overcome Your Fears: Devotions for Girls (I Am Fearless)Sample

Have you ever been on a rollercoaster? It's scarier if you put both of your arms into the air so you're not holding onto anything. That's how it can be in our walk with God. When we take our hands off of trying to control things and hold onto God instead, it can be scary at first. But soon we can relax, breathe, and experience His peace.
When we use both hands to grab hold of God and trust in Him, fear will lose its grip on us. And God Himself says not to fear. If the God of the Universe tells us we do not need to fear, then we do not need to fear!
Reflection:
How can thinking of the qualities of God help us let go of fear?
What quality of God comforts you and helps you to fear less? (Did you catch how "fear less" is pretty much the word fearless!)
Prayer:
Lord, thank you that I am Fearless. Help me to let go of any fears troubling my heart and to grab hold of You instead. In Jesus' name, amen.
Action:
Write the word FEARLESS on Cardstock, a piece of paper, or a notecard---whatever you have. Extend lines from the word like sun rays, and write qualities of God on the rays that can help you be fearless.

The devotionals are based on the "I am Fearless" chapter from "I am Yours: Prayers For God's Girl" by Wynter Pitts.
