If Jesus Came to My School: A 5-Day Kids Reading Plan

DAY 4 OF 5

Jesus came to save people.

Jesus spent time with lots of people when He was here. He talked with them, ate with them, healed them, and even fed them. But the main thing Jesus wanted people to do was believe that He was the Son of God. He was going to die for their sins on the cross and rise again. When something good happens to us, we naturally want to tell others and talk about it. Jesus came to be our Savior, and that is a good thing! Won’t you want your friends to know Jesus too? We can talk to our friends, eat with them, help them, play with them, and share meals together. But if we forget to share the good news about Jesus with them, we miss the point of sharing His love and light!

Question & Activity:

Sit in a group with family or friends and take turns to answer the question, “How has Jesus been good to you?” Listen to the answers for ideas on how you can share the goodness of Jesus with others. You can share about Jesus at school too, simply by asking a friend, “Can I share something good with you?” and tell them Jesus loves them so much that He died for their sins and wants them to believe in Him!

Prayer:

Jesus, thank You for being my Savior. Help me be brave and tell my friends about You and how You lovingly died for them.

About this Plan

If Jesus Came to My School: A 5-Day Kids Reading Plan

As we send our children to school each day, we know they will have the opportunity to be salt and light in their classrooms for Jesus. Inspired by April Graney’s picture book, If Jesus Came to My School, this devotional walks through how Jesus loved and served people on this earth, encouraging children to treat their classmates with kindness and love while pointing them to Jesus.
