Impulses for the Way: 30 Days on the Camino De Santiago

DAY 4 OF 30

Forgiveness

Have you ever felt like saying sorry is not enough? Maybe a time when someone hurt you, and you felt like saying “sorry” was too easy — or when you have hurt another, and saying “sorry” could not fix what you did?

With that memory in mind, slowly read Psalm 51:1: “Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins” (NLT).

Read the passage again. Reflect on God’s source of mercy and compassion toward us.

Now read 1 John 1:9: “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness” (NLT).

Sit still and listen.

In today’s video, Barrett asks to “remember what a crazy thing it is to forgive; that the offended would lay down their right to hold on to hate and bitterness and instead, choose to repair a relationship!”

Is there a prayer stirring within you?

Something you want to say to God?

Are you ready to receive God’s forgiveness? Or offer it to another?

About this Plan

Impulses for the Way: 30 Days on the Camino De Santiago

What if following Jesus was like walking the Camino de Santiago—dusty paths, vineyards, mountain passes, and ancient Roman roads? *Impulses for the Way* is a 30-day, video devotional filmed across 800km of this historic pilgrimage. Barrett Harkins, who lives in Santiago and serves pilgrims daily, shares stories from the trail, Scripture reflections, and prayers that explore restlessness, forgiveness, hope, and radical grace. Whether you’re on the Camino or navigating daily life, these short videos invite you to take the next step with Jesus—listening to the Spirit’s whispers and remembering this truth: you never walk alone.
