The Lord Strengthens and Protects Us
“But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen you and set you on a firm foundation and guard you from the evil [one].” — 2 Thessalonians 3:3 AMPC
Discouragement comes to us all at times, but especially when we are trying to live faithfully for God. The Thessalonian believers faced persecution and opposition, and Paul reminded them that in the middle of it all, the Lord was faithful. The same is true for us today.
The enemy tries to weaken us through fear, doubt, or distraction, but the Lord strengthens us. He gives us stability when life feels shaky and protection when the enemy attacks. He guards us from the evil one so that we can stand firm.
When discouragement hangs over us, the enemy loves to push isolation and intimidation. But the Lord does not leave us alone—He strengthens us and sets us on a firm foundation. Prayer is how we cooperate with His faithfulness. It isn’t about fancy words; it’s about staying anchored when the storm rages.
Try making prayer a steady rhythm in your day: in the morning, hand your plans to God; in the afternoon, whisper, “Father, establish me in Your strength”; in the evening, thank Him for guarding and helping you. Over time, you’ll notice the difference: the same pressures, but a steadier you—less rattled, more rooted.
God is faithful. He will strengthen you, guard you, and set your feet on solid ground. You can trust Him to keep you.
Reflection Question:
Where do you need to trade intimidation for intercession this week and lean into God’s faithfulness to strengthen and steady you?
