30 Days in ProverbsSample

As we keep walking through Proverbs together, chapter 11 gives us such a practical picture of what it looks like to live with integrity, generosity, and wisdom. It’s full of contrasts—the way of the righteous compared to the way of the deceitful, the blessings of giving compared to the emptiness of selfishness.
One theme that stands out is integrity. We live in a world that often bends truth for gain, but Proverbs reminds us that honesty is important to God. Living with integrity not only honors Him but also builds trust with others. Our words and actions should line up—what we say, what we do, and who we are when no one is looking. That's a way of living we are called to.
Another theme is generosity. Proverbs 11 reminds us that there’s joy in giving—that when we refresh others, we ourselves are refreshed. I think about my six-year-old son, who loves to win at everything. Lately, we’ve been working on generosity, learning to give without expecting something in return. The other day, he celebrated me winning instead of himself, and I saw the delight in his eyes just from watching me be blessed. That’s the beauty of generosity—it multiplies joy!
This chapter also points us to the importance of guidance. Life can feel heavy when we try to carry decisions alone. Proverbs reminds us that wisdom is often found in seeking counsel. I know I wouldn’t be where I am today without mentors, pastors, and friends who have spoken into my life. Their wisdom helped me avoid mistakes and pursue God’s best.
At the end of the day, Proverbs 11 paints a clear picture: the way of the righteous leads to life, while dishonesty and selfishness lead to ruin. God invites us to walk in truth, to be generous with what we’ve been given, and to surround ourselves with wise voices.
It’s a call to live authentically, with open hands and open hearts, trusting that God blesses those who walk in His ways.

About this Plan

Proverbs is one of the most practical books in the Bible. It’s not a list of promises to lean on, but principles to live by—wisdom for our words, our work, our relationships, and our choices. Over the next 30 days, we’ll walk through Proverbs one chapter at a time, uncovering what it looks like to live wisely in the everyday.
