Romans: A 30 Day VisitSample

Someday, we will have to just look at all the "but now" phrases in the scriptures! Today, we will check out this one in verse 21.
After completely establishing that we are without hope in ourselves and our own works, Paul explains, "but now"...God steps in.
How does a person receive this righteousness that is being offered?
Let's define a couple of these big words so we are all thinking the same thing!
Righteousness: the state where all things are set right over their former bondage to sin, death, and the evil one.
Justified: the action of setting all things right against their former bondage to sin, death, and the evil one.
Redemption: liberation from bondage to sin, death, and the evil one.
How devastating for us to be held in bondage to sin, death, and Satan. But through faith in Jesus, we are redeemed. Pause and really take that in.
Have you been redeemed? Have you accepted the free gift of God's grace? I pray that this is a decision you have made, or that you make today.

About this Plan

Paul's letter to the church in Rome is packed! He is helping this new church establish a vision for what it looks like to be citizens of God's Kingdom. There is doctrine to learn and live by, as well as wisdom for living life in ways that accurately reflect the King. As we take the trip together over the next month, we too see that what we believe, always influences how we live.
