FEAST: 30 Days of Real Truth for Real Life

DAY 14 OF 30

Day 14: Paul—Conviction

Snack

  1. A life transformed by Jesus carries unshakable conviction.
  2. Conviction will cost you something, but it is always worth it.
  3. Finish the race, keep the faith, and hold to what God has called you to.

Appetiser

Have you ever felt so strongly about something that you couldn’t be swayed, no matter the opposition?

Main Course

Paul’s story is one of radical transformation. Once a persecutor of Christians, he encountered Jesus on the road to Damascus and was never the same again (Acts 9:1–9). From that moment, his life was marked by conviction - an unrelenting commitment to the gospel, whatever the cost.

Conviction doesn’t mean the path is easy. From imprisonments to beatings, from shipwrecks to rejection, Paul faced trial after trial. Yet nothing could shake his resolve. He declared,“I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace” (Acts 20:24 NIV).

Paul’s conviction wasn’t rooted in stubbornness but in revelation. He had encountered the risen Christ, and that encounter anchored him through every storm. It was this conviction that turned his weakness into strength and his suffering into testimony.

As he approached the end of his life, Paul wrote with the same steadfast spirit:“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7 NIV). His words weren’t theory—they were the reflection of a life poured out in service, even unto death.

Conviction will always be tested. For Paul, it meant persecution and ultimately martyrdom. For us, it might mean standing firm in our beliefs at work, in our families, or in our culture when compromise feels easier. Yet the same Spirit who strengthened Paul strengthens us.

Paul’s example challenges us to hold fast to the call of God with courage and clarity. When others waver, conviction steadies. When the road is hard, conviction carries.

Like Paul, may we run our race with perseverance, keeping the faith until the very end.
