FEAST: 30 Days of Real Truth for Real LifeSample

Day 13: Samaritan Woman—Worth It
Snack
- Jesus meets us where we are, not where we think we should be.
- He sees the whole of our story and still offers living water.
- Your testimony, however imperfect, can lead many to Him.
Appetiser
Have you ever felt unworthy of God’s attention, only to find that He was seeking you out all along?
Main Course
At Jacob’s well, a Samaritan woman came to draw water in the heat of the day. She was avoiding others, but Jesus was waiting for her. His simple request—“Will you give me a drink?” (John 4:7 NIV)—opened a conversation that would change her life.
Jesus knew her story. He revealed the brokenness she carried and the failed relationships she thought defined her. Yet instead of condemnation, He offered living water—a source of life that would never run dry (John 4:10-14).
What is striking is how personally Jesus engaged her. A Jewish rabbi speaking with a Samaritan woman broke every cultural rule of the time. But Jesus was not bound by prejudice or reputation. He cared more about her redemption than appearances.
When she realised who He was—the Messiah she had been waiting for—she left her water jar behind and ran back to her town (John 4:28-29). The very people she had been avoiding became the ones she told about Jesus.
Encountering Christ always transforms how we see ourselves and how we relate to others. The woman who once hid in shame became a bold witness, and many Samaritans came to believe because of her testimony (John 4:39).
Her story reminds us that no one is beyond God’s reach. Jesus meets us at our wells—in ordinary places, at unexpected times—and offers living water. Our past may feel heavy, but in His hands, it becomes the platform for His grace. You may feel unworthy or overlooked, but Jesus sees you fully and loves you completely.
Just as the Samaritan woman discovered, sharing your story can draw others to the One who satisfies every thirst.
