When Trust Becomes Testimony

DAY 8 OF 30

Week 2: Leaning Into His Character

Trusting When Life Shifts

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6, NIV)

We don’t know what’s ahead. We can’t see the future, what will happen to our friends and family, where the world is going, or whether our health with stay. There are so many variables that we can’t know, and sometimes the lack of knowledge drives us crazy. Especially when we run headfirst into a struggle or emergency that breaks the ground beneath our feet.

Life shifts, and we are left wondering how we will hold up. But God grows us in the transitions and unexpected. Our trust is tested, our faith rebuilt, and God invites us into the hard with Him. Because He is there, He knows what is coming and how things will play out. God is unchanging, remember? Our lives may shift, our health may dip, we may be without the next step illuminated. But this is where we rely on His character because He sees the bigger picture. He sees who we are becoming, and He knows the paths He will make straight when we give our days to Him. He is our firm foundation, our rock and strong tower.

The truth for today is: We can trust God when life shifts. He holds us steady.

Prayer:

Lord, I don’t like it when things change. I don’t like not knowing how things will turn out. But I want trust You in this. Steady my heart and mind as I lean into You. Amen.

Reflection Question:

What shift in your life right now calls for you to trust God more deeply?

About this Plan

God invites us to anchor our lives in who He is: good, faithful, merciful, sovereign, loving, and more. This thirty-day plan shows us His character, teaches us to trust, and challenges us to live it out.
