Peace in the Storm

DAY 11 OF 30

Nothing Can Separate Us

Paul is closing out a whole chapter on victory, and he makes it clear: there is absolutely nothing that can cut you off from God’s love. Notice he doesn’t just say “nothing,” he lists it — height, depth, powers, creation — as if to cover every possibility. He’s saying,“I don’t care how high you climb or how low you fall, God’s love will still reach you.”

This verse destroys the lie that God’s love is fragile or conditional. People may walk out. Circumstances may change. Even our own emotions may waver. But God’s love in Christ is fixed, unshakable, and unbreakable.

Think about it: sin can’t separate you, because Christ already paid for it. Death can’t separate you, because He conquered it. Life’s struggles can’t separate you, because His love sustains you through them. You may feel distant, but His love is never out of reach.

I’ve made mistakes that made me question if God still loved me, especially once you see how people in society love to cancel you and also how some people in the church are quick to shun and condemn you. Outsiders made me feel as if God would not receive me after my moments of imperfections, but His love always reached me even in my lowest moments and he restored me to my identity in Him. My failures and your failures don't scare God away; they draw Him near to us and we should draw near to him even the more.

Declare this truth: “I am loved, and nothing can change that.” Carry it with you as your shield against lies of rejection. Stop letting shame convince you that God's love has an off switch. When you feel unworthy, remind yourself that God's love is based on Christ alone, not your performance. Rest in the truth that His love doesn't just follow you -- it holds, redeems, and restores you.
