My Boss Doesn't Respect MeSample

Day 2. When Someone Else Gets the Credit Instead of You
Day after day you show up, but someone else gets the credit. You carry the weight, but another person gets the praise. That stirs up jealousy and makes you question why you even bother. Saul faced the same thing when David’s name was shouted louder than his.
“As David was returning after killing Goliath and as the soldiers were coming back home, women from every town in Israel came out to meet King Saul. They were singing joyful songs, dancing, and playing tambourines and lyres. In their celebration the women sang, ‘Saul has killed thousands, but David tens of thousands.’ Saul did not like this, and he became very angry. He said, ‘For David they claim tens of thousands, but only thousands for me. They will be making him king next!’ And so he was jealous and suspicious of David from that day on.” (1 Samuel 18:6–9 GNT)
Saul had everything—the throne, the power, the title. But comparison ate him alive. Instead of leading with strength, he allowed jealousy to cloud his view of David.
It’s the same trap at work. When a boss praises someone else while ignoring you, anger is right there. Jealousy makes the wound deeper. But God warns you: don’t go down Saul’s road. Comparison never ends well.
Your worth isn’t measured by what’s said in a staff meeting. It’s measured by the God who sees every bit of effort you give. He knows when you stay late, when you do what’s right, even if no one notices. Working for him keeps you steady when respect from people is missing.
Prayer
Lord, I confess that when others get the credit I deserve, jealousy takes hold and resentment grows. Forgive me for comparing myself to others and letting envy into my heart. Teach me to work with honesty and strength, knowing that you see what no one else sees. Remind me that my worth comes from you, not from the words of a boss. Keep me steady when I feel overlooked. Amen.
