Faith in the Ordinary - a 5 Day Journey Through the Book of Colossians Sample

The extraordinary ordinary life is one where Christ’s presence shines through daily actions and words. Your ordinary is someone else’s glimpse of Jesus. Often, faith doesn’t look flashy; sometimes it looks like consistency, grace, and courage in the everyday.

I’ve encountered many seemingly ordinary people - individuals who work 9–5 jobs and live in ordinary homes - yet God has used them in extraordinary ways. My life has been shaped and impacted by many who encouraged me to remain faithful to Jesus, but the ordinary example of my parents’ faith has inspired me the most to keep pursuing Him.

Both of my parents work 9–5 jobs. They aren’t famous or influential by the world’s standards, yet they have allowed God to use their ordinary lives to make an extraordinary impact in the world. They are the most generous, kind, and loving couple I know. They live with a deep conviction that because they have been forgiven much, they can love much.

They have surrendered their ordinary, everyday lives to Jesus, and He has used them to make an extraordinary impact on the lives of so many around them.

And the same is true for us: when we surrender our ordinary lives to Jesus, He can use them to make an extraordinary difference in the world around us.
