Connect With God Through Remembrance | 7-Day DevotionalSample

Pillar of our Faith
Connecting with God through Remembrance is reflecting on all He has done and who He is. When you remember what God has done in your life, you feel close to Him. Your confidence in Him is rekindled as you are reminded of how faithful He has been. You gain a new perspective and hope because of who He has been, not only in your lifetime but through the ages.
When you look back at the foundations of who He says He is — the beginning and end, the first and the last, the Pre-eminent One, the Creator, the Giver of Salvation and Deliverance, the One who covers, the One who gives good gifts, the Lifter of your head — you can’t help but be awestruck that the One who is infinitely great and all-powerful is still mindful of you. This allows you to trust that you can genuinely and intimately encounter the One True Living God.
True remembrance draws you unto Christ and into an intimate encounter with Him. In Psalm 103, the writer gives an exhortation to “forget not” the benefits provided to those who love and serve God. These include salvation, forgiveness, healing, deliverance, and tender-mercies. The power in remembering is anchoring you to something sure, faithful, and lasting—the One who never changes.
Prayer
Lord, as I look back and remember Your goodness and grace over my life, I can move forward knowing You were always there. Please help me to stay anchored in Your love, remembering that it is not about what I have done, but about what Jesus did for me on the Cross. Amen.
Application
Take a moment and reflect on God’s eternal nature. Ask Him to remind you of the moments He has carried you through scripture upon which you can anchor your faith.
About this Plan

There is only one way to God, and it's through Jesus, but in Jesus, there are many ways to connect with God. This month, we are focusing on connecting with God through Remembrance. As you remember what God has done, you are drawn into an encounter with Him. Through this 7-Day devotional, our goal is that you will be equipped to understand how to connect with God through Remembrance.
