Connect With God Through Remembrance | 7-Day DevotionalSample

Healing through Remembrance
In Isaiah 6, the opening “In the year King Uzziah died…” was a significant moment of challenge for Isaiah because a man he knew, trusted, and admired passed away. But it was also in that season that he received the revelation of God’s glory and his calling from the Lord. Not only did Isaiah experience the grandeur and glory of God, but he was also awakened to an awareness of his own frailty before a Holy God.
Sometimes when you look back, you may be taken to a moment of sadness, grief, or disappointment. However, when you look closer and deeper, you will see how God was with you during those times. When you connect with God through Remembrance, you can reflect on how God transformed a moment of difficulty into a moment of profound revelation, producing perseverance, character, and hope within you.
When you find it challenging to enter His presence, allow yourself to be taken back to memories where you have felt near to Him and His presence. Do not get stuck in the “King Uzziah died” moments. Instead, go further into the vast and deep waters of God’s love. God wants you to be healed through those memories and receive the revelation of who He is, where He is, and what His heart is for you.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for revealing who You are in the moments of hardship and difficulty in my life. Help me remember that through those hard times, You were there and have helped me in ways I may or may not always understand. Amen.
Application
Ask the Holy Spirit if there is any memory He wants to talk to you about. Reflect on where God was during that time and how He revealed His glory in that moment or experience. Ask Him for a new revelation of His character and confirmation of His calling.
