DAY 4 OF 7

Momentum

Momentum is powerful. Once something starts moving, it’s hard to stop.
That’s why small, steady steps in the right direction can completely change your life.

God designed spiritual growth to work the same way.
Each time you take a step of faith—each time you pray, forgive, show up, serve, or obey—you’re building momentum.
And over time, that momentum begins to carry you further than effort alone ever could.

The problem is, most people lose momentum because they expect instant results.
We want to see progress right away, and when we don’t, we assume it’s not working.
But growth rarely feels dramatic in the moment—it feels steady, almost quiet.

Paul reminds us in Philippians 3:13–14, “Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
Paul’s words remind us that momentum is about direction, not perfection.
You don’t have to have everything figured out—you just have to keep moving forward.

Even the smallest act of obedience keeps your faith in motion.
Momentum is built through consistency—showing up again and again.
The more you stay faithful, the stronger the momentum becomes.

Maybe you’ve been distracted or discouraged.
Maybe you feel like you’ve lost ground spiritually.
The good news is that momentum works both ways—it’s never too late to start moving again.

If you’ve stopped, start.
If you’ve slowed down, take the next step.
Don’t wait until you feel ready; start where you are, and God will meet you there.

Momentum also multiplies through community.
When you surround yourself with people who are growing, their energy fuels yours.
When you encourage someone else, your own faith grows stronger.
That’s why isolation is one of the enemy’s favorite strategies—it kills momentum.
Stay connected. Stay rooted. Stay encouraged.

Momentum doesn’t mean you’ll never face resistance—it means you’ll have strength to push through it.
The longer you stay in motion, the less likely you are to quit.
When your eyes stay fixed on Jesus, even small progress becomes powerful.

What’s one step you can take today to build momentum in your faith?
It doesn’t have to be dramatic—just consistent.
Because in God’s kingdom, small seeds of obedience produce big fruit over time.

About this Plan

Seeds

There are seeds all throughout the Bible. God is a master builder, and one of His primary building blocks is the seed. Growth doesn’t just happen overnight. It takes time and careful attention—this is the power and principle of the seed. In this 7-day devotional, you’ll learn to plant the right things today so you can see His purpose grow in every area of your life.
