Dear Single Mom

DAY 3 OF 3

Morning Is Coming

As the lyrics to one of my all-time favorite songs say:
“Fly away, my heart, don’t despair. The world is full of joy.
You cry, then smile, then you dance.”

Scripture reminds us that there is a time and season for everything under the sun—even for your pain.

Eleven years ago, I would never have imagined myself married, with two more children, traveling the world with my career, and being able to bless so many lives. In my season of heartbreak, everything seemed lost. There were no neon lights guiding my path, no angelic messenger bringing a message from above. It was simply a long, slow process—walking day by day, side by side with the Lord.

“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” — Psalm 30:5

Morning will come—that is certain—but whether you will rise with the sun when it breaks forth is a conscious decision, one only you can make. While you cannot control the times and seasons of your life, you can live with hope and expectation.

“For surely there is an end, and your expectation shall not be cut off.”Proverbs 23:18

Your godly hopes, desires, and expectations are yours to nurture. Do not allow them to die in the darkness of your night season. Remember—Hagar made it out of the desert, and to this day her descendants remain a strong and formidable nation. God’s promises are not deterred by the night seasons of our lives. His Word will come to pass—but it is the Word you know, believe, and speak that will manifest in your life.

I want to encourage you to dream another dream. Just like Joseph, keep dreaming until the vision God has for you and your child—or children—comes to pass.

“Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not faint.”Galatians 6:9

Do not grow weary of speaking well of those who have hurt you.
Do not grow weary of praying for those who persecute you.
Do not grow weary of doing your best for your children.

Morning is coming, and with it comes healing, refreshing, and reward.

Prayer

Dear Father, I thank you for your love and enduring presence. I look up to you in hope. I know you have my life and future in your hands. You will make things right for me. Amen
