Victorious

DAY 1 OF 3

Courageously Brave

Imagine if courage was a type of head gear that we could wear anytime we faced anything that takes a considerable amount of faith, boldness, and strength; When your roaring Goliath looks you in the face giving you every reason to believe that you can’t do something or overcome the hurdles that take shape as mountains in your life. How convenient would it be to have courage tag team with you in order to come out as the Victor and not the victim.

Victory begins in your mind before it transcends to your atmosphere, it begins at the foot of understanding who you are in Christ and knowing that you are an overcomer because of the blood of the lamb and the word of your testimony (Revelation 12:11) as much as your enemy keeps score of your wins and losses, he also knows that you are a winner in Christ. He knows that you have triumphed over him because of what Jesus did for you on the cross, but he will try by every means necessary to make sure you don’t see your potential. He makes sure he fogs your vision with the smoke of doubt and the stench of worry, crippling you with fear and reminding you of your losses - what a dirty game he plays!

One of the men of old, understood what victory really meant, when his enemy was taunting the people of Israel. David did not allow someone who didn’t even know who he was to give him a false identity. Goliath relied on his physical strength and his human capabilities whilst David depended on Who God said he was; anointed and chosen, as well as resting in the peace of knowing the God he served! David rose up and asked the very important question of “who is this...” (1 Samuel 17:26) he tested the source of the words he was hearing, “Who is this that says I can’t do it”, “Who is this that says I'm weak”, “Who is this that says I won't make it”, “Who is this that says I should just give up!" Getting to the root of “Who is this...,” will identify who or what is fueling your faith or fear. Despite how small David was, compared to Goliath he was bold enough to ask the important questions that would lead him to his victory.

Remind yourself of who you belong to before you allow your circumstances to define that for you. You are a Kings child and that means you have dominion and you will triumph with your battle-axe (the sword of the spirit) (Ephesians 6:17)

The word victory stems from the Latin word Victoria which is originally applied to warfare. The landscape of victory is directly shaped around the battlefield, where battle cries are made in the form of prayers and declarations. Establishing oneself on the reality of understanding that the battle is not against flesh or blood (Ephesians 6:10-18). Standing on the pinnacle of revelation that you carry the spiritual DNA of your redeemer who paid the ultimate sacrifice for you, listening to the oceans and waves that roar in great confidence of the all-knowing God who prepared you for this moment, this season, and this year of victory.

Courage is a garment that God has spoken over you (Joshua 1:9), those words are wrapped around your physique, clinging tightly to the textures of your skin, becoming part of the pigment in the cells of your body. In victory, courage is the language that dictates the battle ahead. Your situation won’t change until your mindset does, and courage won’t step in until you open the door for its fresh breeze of zeal and vigor to renew your confidence on the battlefield beginning with Gods word.

Once courage has been activated victory is only one step away. Don’t be intimidated by what you see, step into the realm of the courage of God this year and let His word be the compass that directs you to the mountain tops of victory.

Prayer

Lord God, despite everything that has been thrown my way, may you teach me how to use the bricks of the tests as my stepping stones to be victorious in all that I do, as I bring glory to your name. Help me to be courageous at all times putting my faith in you through every season. Renew my mindset through your word, so I can walk boldly knowing that, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Help me enforce the victory you already won for me on the cross.

In Jesus name I pray. Amen

About this Plan

Victorious

Walking in Victory is what we are called to do every single day, not because of our own strength or abilities but because of Jesus Christ, who is the definition of victory. He tells us that we are more than conquerors through Him, and therefore defeat should never be a place we choose to dwell. This 3-day devotional is a great reminder that all we need to overcome has already been given to us through God's word and the tools in it to live a life of victory in every season and circumstance.
