Stripped Before SentSample

Day 8: Training Before Commissioning
Focus
Understanding why God teaches before He sends.
Devotional
After seasons of loss and stripping, it is natural to expect movement. A new door. A clear instruction. A sense that things are finally about to change. Instead, something unexpected often happens. God begins to teach.
There was a season marked by repeated dreams of being back in school. Sitting among others. Learning. Training. Preparing. The dreams were vivid and consistent, yet confusing. At first, they felt like regression. Like being taken backwards rather than forward.
With time, the meaning became clearer. God was not undoing progress. He was refining posture. Before commissioning, God often returns people to a place of learning. Not because they lack ability, but because they are about to carry more responsibility.
In Scripture, preparation always precedes assignment. Before the field comes the training ground. Before authority comes instruction. God does not rush people into purpose without equipping them to sustain it.
If you feel like God has slowed your pace or placed you in a season of learning when you expected movement, it may be because He is preparing you more deeply than you realise.
Reflection Questions
- Where has God invited you back into learning or preparation?
- How do you respond when growth feels like starting again?

About this Plan

Many people grow up around church without truly knowing God. Faith becomes familiar, prayer becomes transactional, and identity remains unsettled. This plan follows a real journey where calling came early but understanding came later. Life did not suddenly improve. Instead came seasons of waiting, loss, training, and unlearning. Stripped Before Sent is a 10-day devotional about formation before commission. It is not about arrival, but recognising what God is doing beneath the surface.
