God reassures Jacob as he prepares to move his family to Egypt, promising His presence and future deliverance. It’s a big move, relationally, emotionally, and spiritually. Nothing about it feels predictable or comfortable. Yet God is guiding His people according to His plan, not their preferences.
Joseph, now in leadership, continues to act with wisdom and integrity, showing what it looks like to trust God even when the path wasn’t his original plan. Trusting God often means following Him into unfamiliar places, places that don’t come with a detailed itinerary or a five-step explanation.
I’ve learned something over the years: a good idea isn’t always a God idea. A good idea usually makes sense right away. A God idea often makes you pause, pray, and say, “Lord… are You sure?” You may not fully understand it at the beginning, but looking back, it makes complete sense in the end.
