Genesis: Chapter by ChapterSample

When I was a kid, I discovered a love for drawing. I spent hours creating images, feeling proud of what I had made, though no one ever bought a thing. But the truth is, I didn’t create the paper, the pencil, or even the table I drew on. I simply used what already existed.
That realization points us to an important difference between human creativity and God’s work. We may shape, arrange, or improve what’s already here, but God creates from nothing. In the beginning, God spoke, and the world came into existence. He formed it with order, beauty, and purpose, and He declared it “very good.”
God didn’t create because He lacked anything. He created because He chose to. Humanity was made in His image, designed for relationship with Him and entrusted with the responsibility to care for His creation. Yet sin entered through disobedience, fracturing that relationship and introducing shame, fear, and death.
Still, even in judgment, God’s mercy shines through. Instead of abandoning humanity, He pursued them and promised redemption. From the very beginning, we see a God who seeks sinners, not one who turns away from them.

Where do you see God’s grace reaching toward you, even after failure?
