Most of us don’t hesitate before sitting down in a chair. Without thinking, we place our full weight on it, trusting it will hold us. That kind of trust comes naturally in familiar situations. But when it comes to uncharted areas of life, especially where we prefer control over surrender, trust suddenly becomes much harder.
Yet God honors those who trust Him, because He Himself is trustworthy. We see this clearly when God tests Abraham by asking him to offer Isaac. This wasn’t a request for partial obedience, but for a trust that held nothing back. Abraham’s obedience revealed deep confidence that God would remain faithful, even when the command felt impossible and painful.
At the last moment, God provided a substitute, pointing forward to His ultimate provision of salvation. These chapters reveal a God who is worthy of complete trust, a God who can be trusted fully with what matters most to us.
