It’s easy to give up when life gets messy. When things aren’t ideal or don’t turn out the way we hoped, running away can feel like the simplest option. Yet Scripture reminds us that God is not distant or passive in those moments. He remains actively involved in our lives, even when we fall short in more ways than we care to admit.
We see this clearly in Jacob’s household. Competition, jealousy, and manipulation continue to surface, exposing the deep cost of unresolved conflict. The situation is far from clean or orderly. Still, God remains faithful. He continues to grow Jacob’s family and increase his possessions, not because Jacob handles everything well, but because God keeps His promises.
These chapters remind us that blessing comes from God’s hand, not from human striving. God is fully capable of working through messy situations to accomplish His will. Our responsibility isn’t to force outcomes, but to trust Him in the middle of the chaos.
