I remember taking several road trips that led me through towns I knew nothing about—places that felt unfamiliar and, at times, unsafe. I didn’t have the comfort of knowing what was ahead, only the choice to keep moving forward. Faith often feels like that. God calls us out of what is familiar and into places that stretch our trust.
That’s exactly what God did with Abram. He called him to leave his home, his security, and everything he knew, asking him to trust God for a future he couldn’t yet see. Abram responded in faith, believing God’s promises even when their fulfillment seemed impossible. God then established a covenant with Abram, making it clear that those promises rested not on Abram’s perfection, but on God’s faithfulness.
From the very beginning, faith has always meant trusting God enough to follow Him forward—step by step, before the destination is clear.
