The Four Loves

DAY 7 OF 21

Grace Day: Reflecting on Storge Love & Godly Affection

This grace day invites you to slow down and reflect on what you’ve learned about love as God defines it, especially through the lens of storge—the love expressed in family, belonging, and generational connection. God often uses ordinary relationships to reveal His extraordinary love.

Take time today to reread any passages that stood out this week, attend worship, and invite God to show you where healing or growth may be needed in your closest relationships.

Journal & Reflect:

  • How has your understanding of love changed since Day 1?
  • Where have you experienced godly affection—either given or received—in your family or community?
  • Are there generational patterns (positive or painful) God may be inviting you to acknowledge or heal?
  • What would reconciliation or deeper affection look like in one relationship God brings to mind?
  • Pray and ask God to help you receive His love in the places where human love has fallen short.

About this Plan

The Four Loves

This 21-day devotional offers a Scripture-centered journey into the biblical meaning of love. Through daily Bible readings and short reflections, you’ll explore four key expressions of love—storge (affection), philia (friendship), eros (covenant passion), and agape (self-giving love)—and how God uses each to shape our lives. Beginning with the question “What is love?” and moving toward practical challenges like loving difficult people, this devotional is designed to transform your heart, strengthen your relationships, and deepen your understanding of God’s loving nature. It’s an invitation to experience God’s love more fully and reflect it faithfully to others.
