DAY 3: Worth It
Any chef will tell you that it’s far more likely you’ll cut yourself with a full knife than a sharp blade. Staying sharp is incredibly valuable. It benefits not only yourself, but it’s impactful to those around you and vice versa.
The author of Hebrews says, “the Word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword”, so staying connected to God through Scripture helps us stay keyed in. Being a part of the Body of Christ helps us stay accountable and on the right track. Prayer, communion, and other rhythms are all a part of this process as well.
When we stay sharp, we continue to carry out Jesus’ commands to “Go, and make disciples”. When we stop, we begin to lose our effectiveness to help others grow in their faith. Iron sharpening iron is worth it.
