Who Am I?Sample

If You are the Son of God
The devil has two primary tactics to weaken our identity. First, he tries to keep us completely ignorant of our true identity. When that fails, and if we become aware of who we are, he attempts to sow seeds of doubt in our minds.
That’s why, instead of merely asking Jesus to turn the stones into bread, he added, "If You are the Son of God…" in his sentence. Do you now see the intention behind these words?
The devil, the enemy of humanity, knows that a person grounded in their identity with clarity and confidence cannot be shaken. For this reason, he constantly tries to make people doubt and test their own identity.
If Jesus had heeded the devil’s suggestion and commanded the stones to become bread, they would undoubtedly have obeyed their Creator. However, doing so would have implied that He required physical, tangible proof beyond the Voice of His Father. This would create a cycle of doubt and a constant reliance on miracles for validation.
But our Lord, knowing well the tricks of the devil, replied, “It is written….”
Do you think the devil who tested Jesus would spare us from such trials? Certainly not!
As we walk through the valley of despair, he plants seeds of doubt in our minds. He subtly introduces the question, 'If you’re a child of God, why is this happening to you?' He prompts us to wonder, 'Why are your prayers unheard? Your situation hasn’t improved in years; if you’re truly a child of God, wouldn’t He have performed a miracle by now?'
It is in these moments that we must draw near to Jesus, immerse ourselves in His Truth, and become deeply rooted in it.
We do not become children of God by answered prayers, miracles, or deliverance from hardships. Rather, it is our duty to follow Jesus’ example and accept the truth that we are indeed God’s children because ‘IT IS WRITTEN’ in His Word.
We are not children of God when our prayers are answered; rather, our prayers are heard because we are His children. Miracles do not make us God's children; instead, miracles occur because we are His children. We do not become God's children when our circumstances align in our favour; rather, circumstances work in our favour because we are His children.
In conclusion, it is our identity that shapes our circumstances, not the other way around. Our situations do not dictate who we are; rather, it is our identity that dictates our situations.
Challenge Question:
Write down the problems that have made you question God. Now, from the place of your new identity, pray over each one, declaring, “Because I am a child of God, this situation will be resolved, in Jesus’ name.”
After praying, take a moment to sit quietly and ask God to show you how He sees you in the midst of each situation.

About this Plan

Countless churchgoers are trapped in a cycle of spiritual failure because they lack understanding of who they truly are. We think we know who we are, yet our identity is more misplaced than we realize. More disheartening is that we are unaware of our own ignorance. And this ignorance is the devil’s greatest weapon. Jesus said, “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32). The moment we know the truth about who we really are, our life will have a radical shift. This devotional aims to help you identify who you are.
