More than just daily devotions. These are Presence-filled encounters.

Throughout the Old Testament, we witness just a few moments of encounter, such as Noah or Abraham, who had intimate personal encounters with the Lord where God would appear and meet with them to make a covenant, lay out instructions to obey, with purpose and calling revealed.

How beautiful it is that the God in all of His power and sovereignty, the Creator of all things, the King of Kings, and the Lord of Lords desires to meet with us in this way?!

What does your next encounter with the Lord look like? As you spend time with Him, ask, "What does He want to reveal?" What is the next assignment He wants to bestow on you? Or maybe this is just a moment where He simply wants to pour out His love upon you.

Build a Dwelling Place.

God gave Moses instructions to build a temple. Again, we see the Lord’s desire to dwell with us. And while He could have easily continued to appear and show Himself here and there, He ultimately desired a permanent place to dwell and commune with the ones He loves.

Creating a space for the Lord to dwell may look different depending on the season you are in, and that’s okay, but don’t stop drawing near. Whether that’s seeking Him early in the morning, right as the sun begins to rise, or a holy moment of worship while driving home from work, or being sensitive to His presence to lean in, shutting off all the noise right before you go to bed at night. He is right there, ready to commune with you.

2. Write out what your daily rhythm is with the Lord for this season of your life. How are you going to steward these moments of encounter?
