Easter ReflectionsSample

The fulfilment of biblical prophecies is one of the proofs of the Bible's authenticity. Isaiah spoke of Christ's suffering, death, and resurrection long before Jesus came to earth. Everything that happened to Christ proved the validity of Scripture. The gospel we preach has been tested and proven true (1 Corinthians 15:1-4, 14, 17-19).
Christ's bodily resurrection settles any doubts about whether he was the Son of God (Romans 1:4). None would offer a valid excuse for rejecting Christ's rule and reign over their lives.
There is yet another theory that attempts to debunk the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is called the Impersonation Theory. It proposes that the post-resurrection appearances were not Christ but someone impersonating him. This, the proponents argue, is evident in the fact that some of the disciples did not recognize Jesus at first (or even at all).
But would it have been impossible to impersonate Christ's wounds? They were his proof to Thomas that he really was the one (John 20:24). Their inability to recognize Him was also a phenomenon of His glorified body brought about by His purposes, as in Luke 24:16. "But their eyes were restricted that they should not recognize Him," the passage reads.
The death and resurrection of Christ as a fulfilment of earlier prophecies gives us confidence in the Bible. It has stood the test of time and is reliable for life. Christ is really who the Bible says he is. The Bible was written by 40 different people who lived over 1,600 years apart. Yet it is very coherent, and its message does not contradict itself.
The Bible's accuracy speaks to its uniqueness. It is God's word, and he directs every occurrence in history according to the pleasure of his will. Nothing goes outside of the plan. Therefore, we can trust all that God has said in his word. Therefore, this Easter (and every day after), endeavour to give careful thought to God's promises regarding your life; promises found only in Scripture.
Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank you for confirming your word through Christ's death and resurrection. Help me to align my life to your Word all my days. In Jesus' name, Amen.
