Easter Reflections

DAY 28 OF 28

The resurrection stands as the one irrefutable evidence that Jesus has the authority to judge the world. No one who indulges in sin can escape this judgment. The wrath of God is only escaped by those who repent of their sins. The day of judgment is fixed, and the Son of God will judge justly. Even Muslims attest to there being a just judgment, despite the unfortunate fact that they reject the Savior.

Blaise Pascal conversed with fellow philosophers regarding accepting Christ as Lord and Savior. He told them that if they were to die and find that heaven and hell are real, he would have gained while they lost. But if they were to find that both heaven and hell weren't real, then neither he nor they would have lost anything. Hence, he had more to gain, and they had more to lose.

That Jesus rose from the dead is beyond doubt. His resurrection singles him out as the Son of God (Romans 1:4), as the Savior of the world and the means of justification and peace with God through personal faith in Christ (Romans 4:25-5:1). For those who reject him, he will be their judge at the Day of the Lord (Acts 17:30-31).

If you have yet to put your faith in Christ, consider that nothing else in this life will satisfy you. In Christ, you are promised rest in this world and the one to come. It is this one hope that Easter offers, a hope I pray you never turn down.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, forgive me for my unbelief. Grant that I will be found righteous at your second coming. In Jesus's name, Amen.
