DISCERN BEFORE YOU DECIDE
Anchor Scripture: Proverbs 14:15
“The simple believe anything, but the prudent give thought to their steps.”
Discernment is wisdom applied. It helps you distinguish between good and best, opportunity and distraction, truth and assumption. Scripture urges careful evaluation because decisions shape outcomes.
Paul prayed that believers would “abound in love with knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best” (Philippians 1:9–10). Discernment requires both love and understanding. Without insight, emotions mislead; without love, wisdom hardens.
Jesus exercised discernment continually. He did not entrust Himself to everyone because He understood hearts (John 2:24–25). Discernment protected His mission from distraction and compromise.
Wise decisions begin with prayer, reflection, and patience. Discernment slows you down enough to hear God clearly.
