DAY 15 OF 20

Day 15: Freedom Is a Process

Scripture: Galatians 5:1 (NIV)
"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery."

Jesus set you free. That's already done. The cross already broke the power of sin and shame over your life. That's not something you're working toward. It's something you're walking into.

But walking into freedom is a process. It's not usually a single moment where everything changes overnight. It's a series of choices, one day at a time, sometimes one hour at a time, to stand firm in what Jesus already purchased for you.

Paul says don't let yourself be burdened again. That implies you have a role. You're not passive in this. You make choices. You build habits. You put structures in place. You stay in community. You keep showing up for the fight even when you lose a round.

Relapse doesn't mean failure. It means you're in a fight. And people in fights get knocked down sometimes. The question isn't whether you got knocked down. It's whether you get back up.

Freedom isn't the absence of struggle. It's the refusal to stay down. It's choosing, again and again, to walk toward the life Jesus died to give you instead of back toward the thing that's been stealing it.

You're not too far gone. Freedom is possible. One step at a time.

Reflect: What does standing firm look like practically for your specific struggle? What structures, people, or habits help you stay on your feet?

Today: Put one structure in place today that supports your freedom. Tell one person. Remove one trigger. Make one appointment. Take one concrete step toward the life Jesus has for you.
