The Bible: Son Of God TourSample
Day 3
Key Passage: Matthew 14.22-24
Life can be a struggle. It’s one thing to struggle because of poor choices. It’s another to struggle when we’re convinced it’s a choice Jesus would want us to make. In one sense, it doesn’t seem like it should be that way.
As we read above, Jesus told his disciples to take a boat to the other side of the lake. As they obey Jesus, they’re struggling. The wind and the waves are making their journey really difficult. They’re “pulling an all-nighter” as they try to get to the other side and it’s a battle.
The disciples think they’re alone, but they’re not. Let’s continue reading the story.
Main Passage: Matthew 14.25-33
Reflection:
- When the disciples think they’re looking at a ghost, how does Jesus respond in verse 27?
- Why did Peter start to sink in verse 30? What happens when you sense Jesus wants you to do something and it gets difficult?
- What are the strong winds your facing right now? Ask Jesus to help you know that he is with you right now. Meredith Andrews shares another encouraging passage as we face the storms of life.
