A Prayer for Brothels to Be Shut Down
“It's estimated that there are more than 5,000 brothels disguised as massage parlors nationwide.” – Polaris Project
Dear God,
Nothing in all creation is hidden from your sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of whom we must give account. (Heb. 4:13) You are well aware of the evil taking place in brothels around our country and beyond. Just as you delivered the Israelites from the Egyptians by parting the Red Sea, make a way for the captives of these brothels to be led into freedom. You confused the enemy and jammed the wheels of their chariots so they had difficulty driving, causing them to want to give up their pursuit of your people. (Exod. 14:21-25)
In the same way, we ask you to move on behalf of the oppressed, O God. Confuse the wicked. Confound their words, for I see violence and strife in the city. (Ps. 55:9) Shut down these brothels completely! You thwart the plans of the crafty, so that their hands achieve no success. You catch the wise in their craftiness, and the schemes of the wily are swept away. (Job 5:12-13) Do not grant the wicked their desires, Lord; do not let their plans succeed. (Ps. 140:8) Shut down their places of business by the power of your mighty right hand! In the name of Jesus! Amen.
