1O, saul o’ mine, reese thou the Lord,
And a’ that wins in me,
The holie name o’ God, the Lord,
A roosin’ reesin’ gie.
2O, saul o’ mine, reese thou the Lord,
And a’ thy roo o’ debt
For His maist kindlie gifts to thee,
O, dinna thou forget.
3For ilka wrang that thou has wrocht
That rews upon thee still;
That makes thee stieve and hale again
O’ ilka dowie ill.
4That frae the mouls redds but thy life,
To daith thou gang‐na doon;
That theeks thee wi’ the best o’ gree,
Wi’ kindness haps thee roon’.
5That wi’ a rowth o’ gudelie fare
Dis plenish weel thy moo’,
That, siccan as an earn, in micht
Thy youth He dis renew.
