When Heaven Kisses the Earth

Lyrics by David Binion and Reba Rambo McGuire

Could this be the gateway of Heaven

Could this be the doorway of grace

Is the King of the ages among us

Is the Lord really here in this place

There is a signature fragrance

And the sound of abundance of rain

There is a swirling of Glory

On the face of the deep once again

The angels dance up and down the ladder

Announcing the birth of His Word

All of Creation is trembling

As the cry of redemption is heard

And the Kingdom of Heaven

Kisses the earth

The spell of the darkness is broken

The world is embraced by the

Prince of the Light

The dreams that were dead have awoken

The Daystar Of hope is arising to shine

And He sings of the dawning of freedom

The song of the Lamb

and the Sovereign I Am

Is the sound of His Heavenly Kingdom

Kissing the earth

Peace on earth

Goodwill to men

Kisses

From Heaven

I love the Sound of Christmas. The busy sidewalks, and ringing bells. I love the church choirs singing in candlelight. The Sound of Christmas is really The Sound of Heaven. And its origin was not in Bethlehem 2000 years ago. It actually began before the foundation of the world. He was the slain Lamb long before he was born in a stable where lambs found refuge.

The Lamb “slain before the foundation of the world” was the revelation of Jesus in the mind of the Godhead before the brilliance of Eden. Evolutionists call it the Big Bang theory. It was much more than a Big Bang when God spoke, “Let there be!” The Sound of His voice shook nothingness to its core and the Light of Heaven broke into the realm of the visible and it was Glorious!

Let there be! And the grass grew, the birds sang, and the waves of the sea responded with applause as Heaven invaded earth.

The Father contemplates for a moment the slain Lamb. He considers the sacrifice of His Son and then knowingly begins to shape the form that would bring our salvation. All of Heaven said, “It looks like Him! His image! Heaven on earth!”

When Jesus would later teach his disciples to pray, “On earth as it is in Heaven” he was asking for something He had already seen before: Heaven on earth!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only son....

For God so loved the world. He created the earth for His pleasure and purpose. Then He taught us to pray, “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven!”

In Genesis He creates His image and tells him to subdue and have dominion. But He already knew Adam would fall. So, He made provision before creation to accomplish the original intent of His heart.

And now we find ourselves in Bethlehem. Angels have appeared announcing the birth of the King. The same angels that were present when they beheld God’s image in the garden, are now witnesses to the birth of the Son of God--His image in the form of an infant. The tiny fingers that gripped those of His mother would be the same fingers that would grasp the keys of Death and Hell and restore what Adam lost.

So, as you listen to the sounds of the season this year, as we celebrate the birth of the Infant Messiah, may we not lose sight of the fulfillment, of the reality that Heaven kissed the earth.

Heaven kissed the earth when God said, “Let there be!” And again, when the virgin gave birth to the God child. He came then so that He can come now, every time we worship Him and create a place for Him to inhabit. Creation’s song blended with the Sound of Heaven stirs the song in our hearts again and again as we celebrate this season with The Sound of Christmas.
