30 Days Of Emotional Health预览
Family drama.
I was at Costco when I got a call that shook me to the core. The news I received could potentially ruin the lives of people I love. Within minutes I felt the rush of anxiety and fear. Could God get us safely through this? How could He navigate this impossible situation?
When a mess is bigger than our capabilities, will we also believe it’s beyond God’s?
The Israelites, the nation God freed from Egyptian slavery, faced uncertainty too. Their problem was life threatening; they were beyond thirsty and hungry. Wandering through the dessert, they were desperate for water. So God had Moses, their leader, hit a rock with a stick, and water came out.
Can you imagine their range of emotions at that moment?
Bewilderment, excitement, thankfulness, confusion. God’s people saw numerous miracles like this, yet when more problems arose, they doubted He’d meet their next need.
Psalm 78:11 says, “They forgot what He had done, the wonders He had shown them.” And so, according to verse 22, they didn’t believe or trust God to deliver them. I also often forget how God has helped me in the past. So I pause to reflect when catastrophes hit.
When doubt rises, I remind myself of the battles God’s already won on my behalf. I find comfort in how He’s fought for and healed relationships. How He’s brought peace and joy even in the midst of loss. How ultimately nothing in this world can destroy me because my salvation is immovable thanks to Jesus.
I get to choose. I can let life throw my emotions around, or I can plant my feet deep in the truth of God’s love and faithfulness. When I do, troubles can’t move me.
If you’re facing something impossible, dig in with Jesus, trusting the One who can restore what is beyond your limits.
