Exodus 12:13 NKJV

Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will PASS OVER you, and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt. 

When God was about to send the last of the ten devastating plagues on Egypt, God told His people the secret of how to stay safe. They would need the blood of a lamb. The blood applied on the homes kept all those inside the homes safe from death. The Lord promised that the plague would PASSOVER them, and not be on them. But they had to believe the words of God, they had to obey and they had to stay under the blood. Then they would be safe.

John 1:29 NKJV

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” 

The whole Passover was symbolic of what Jesus has done for us. Jesus is the Lamb of God who was sacrificed for us. We believed Him. As a result, His blood was sprinkled over us (1 Peter 1:2). 

Today, God sees the blood of Jesus over us and our homes. It’s invisible but we see it too by faith. And we know that we are safe. We have PASSED OVER from death to life. All glory to God!

By His blood we are now put right with God, how much more, then, will we be saved by Him from God’s anger! 

Pray: 

* Thank God for the blood which protects you from death and destruction.

* Pray for salvation to come to your whole family.

* Pray for the atmosphere in your city to change and may people be open to the glorious gospel.
