While we’re asleep we can have all kinds of dreams. When we wake up we sometimes forget them instantly, and other times we remember the strange parts. You might have dreamt you were flying or being chased by a duck.

How do we know if the dream we have is from God or if it’s just another strange thing our mind came up with while we were sleeping? Think about it this way. The dreams we have for our lives are often dreams that we have while we’re awake, they inspire us and make us excited about the future and they give us purpose in our lives. The ultimate test for our dreams is this: ask yourself, “if this dream were to come true, would it bless just me or would it help others?” God gives each of us gifts and talents, things we are good at that we can use to help others. The gifts God has given you are different from those for the people around you, and the gifts God has given you are FOR the people around you. The dreams God gives us are not for ourselves, they’re about helping others.
