GIVE HONOR WHERE HONOR IS DUE

In this study, we have learned that there is a connection between life and death and how children treat their parents. We have learned that the connection between God’s love and a mother’s love is similar. Today we end this study by learning that God gave women children as a heritage from Him; they are the fruit of her womb!

In all three studies, we have learned to give honor where honor is due.

"Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward." Psalm 127:3

"Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate." Psalm 31:31

A mother doesn’t mother to get praise. She lives out this role out of pure love because her children are a very part of her.

It is easy to analyze if a child has received a mother’s love at home. You can easily spot children who have been left to themselves. Many today believe children should do what they want to do with no guidance, no rules, and no discipline. This goes the opposite direction of what God has instructed. When left to themselves, children generally turn out wild and rebellious, lacking respect for their parents.

It breaks my heart to hear a child throwing a tantrum in a public place and lashing out with words, slapping at his or her mother, out of control. This just should not take place.

Mother’s Day around the world has been designated as one day of the year, but may I suggest we daily treat our mothers with honor and respect? The flowers, the candy, the cards, or whatever gift are all nice, but what she wants is that bond of respect and honor that she so deserves. Call often and visit as often as you can.

PRAYER: Thank You, Lord, for mothers. Thank You for this day each year that we set aside in most countries to observe our moms. And Lord, let us be children who follow Your command and honor our mothers all year long! In Jesus' name, amen.
