Churchy Words - Holiness预览
Praising Our Holy God
Invitation to SELAH
Before you spend time face-to-face with God today, take some time to SELAH (Stop, Exhale, Lean In, Ask & Hear).
Reflect
Often without noticing, our favorite worship songs are actually more about us than they are about God. As we understand and recognize the holiness of God, it should cause us to worship Him. Our focus should be on Him, His goodness, His faithfulness, His love, and ultimately His holiness. It is because He is so uniquely different and holy that His love, goodness, patience, grace, and mercy are so good.
Psalm 99 contains the word “exalt” several times. That word literally means to lift high above everything else. What if God was a higher priority than everything else for you today? What if God caught your attention more than anything else today? What if God took your time more than anything else today? He is certainly worthy of our praise, worship, and exaltation, but do you believe that? Do you believe God is worthy to be exalted?
Today, take some time to praise God. Why? “For He is Holy.” Read Psalm 99 and look at some specific actions or postures you could take and spend some time in worship.
