The 5 R’s: Lessons We Value From Educators Beyond The Classroom预览
The Value of Reviewing
We learned very early in school the value of reviewing. A review helps us to remember and reinforce the things that we have already learned and helps us to establish new ways to apply that knowledge. If you were blessed to have an educator who would review material before a test, plays before a game, or skills before a task you remember how it increased your confidence and refocused your attention. Reviewing the lessons you had learned not only prepared you for the test ahead of you, it turned the test into an opportunity to prove what you had learned instead of fearing failure.
In the Bible, we see God prompting His people to review His attributes and all that He had done for them. He commands us to recount these to the next generation so that no one would forget His mighty works and loving faithfulness that had sustained and blessed them. Reviewing all that God has done for you will strengthen your faith and courage to trust and obey Him in all circumstances. Take some time to review God’s presence and faithfulness in your life. When has He brought you courage and comfort? When did you see the impossible become reality? What increase, encouragement, or opportunity came at just the right time? What situations consumed you with fear but never came to pass? Refresh your memory for a few minutes and thank God once again for all the things He has done for you, in you, and through you.
In the past five days, we reviewed the 5R’s that we learned to value early in life through educators, teachers, coaches, mentors, and parents. How will these lessons refresh and reinforce your value of routine, rules, relationships, responsibility, and reviewing? Take some time to pray and thank God for the educators in your life and commit to sharing these lessons with someone to encourage them. I pray that you have realized that what you loved and respected about many of your favorite educators is that they modeled and mentored biblical lessons that became valued pieces of your character that you continue to practice decades later.
