Shame is one of addiction’s cruelest companions. It's the quiet voice that tells you you're not just someone who made a mistake — you are the mistake.
God’s grace, on the other hand, says you are not your addiction, you are not your past, and you are not your shame. You are chosen. You are worthy. You have nothing to be ashamed of. For those who have repented and believed in God, they have no condemnation (Romans 8:1).
