All the Feels - Leading Our Emotionsنموونە

DAY 15: LONELY / UNSEEN
Did you know that the first human ever recorded to give God a name was a woman who felt unseen? Her name was Hagar, she had been mistreated and felt discarded and alone. God saw her pain and reached down to comfort her and meet her in her lowest moment. She responded by naming Him—El Roi, the God who sees me.
If you are feeling alone, unnoticed or unseen by others, I want you to know that El Roi is still that same God for you today. He sees what no one else sees. All your hard work, the struggle, the thoughtfulness, the pain—all of it. The Bible tells us that Jesus is with us and no matter what we go through He will never leave us alone.
Sometimes the things we feel so deeply give us an opportunity to better understand how to meet these same needs for others. Who can you reach out to today and encourage? Who can you 'see' and be a friend to? The bible says: "...whoever refreshes others will be refreshed." (Proverbs 11:25b, NIV) Don't let your lonely feelings lead you to isolation and discouragement, lead your feelings to refresh others who might be feeling unseen as well.

Feelings. We all have them. Some of us speak them out loud while others silently shut down. As we walk through life experiencing the highs and lows of celebrating, grieving and everything in between—what happens to us and our relationships when we let what we feel drive what we do? How can we lead our feelings instead of being led by them? Let’s learn how to authentically navigate "all the feels" according to God’s Word without allowing our emotions to cloud our experiences. 30 Day-Devo by Nicole Wiencek with Ashley Clement.
