What Does It Mean?

What does being "Appointed" really mean? It means you are designated, ordained, assigned, authorized, and selected! It is a title that means that as a follower of Jesus Christ, you are called to be an Ambassador for Him to the world! What a great responsibility and charge! (2 Cor. 5:20)

Yes, you are charged to proclaim the Gospel to the world! (Isa. 52:7) You each have been chosen, but what you do with that knowledge is solely up to you. Your free will has the right to accept the assignment or reject it and live an incredibly mediocre life. God has so much more for you than that!

Even the fact that I am writing within this platform makes me an Ambassador to the entire world...right from my couch! With the internet and social media so vast and accessible to all, there is no excuse not to represent the Lord Jesus as much as you possibly can with the time we have left! It is time to emulate Jesus more than ever.

God's Word also tells us to imitate the faith of the leaders He has selected to help us learn about God. (Heb 13:7) You can be talking about God in your normal conversations and telling people what He's done for you, how He's brought you through, and how He can do the same for them! There are so many opportunities right in front of each and every one of us.

Maybe you feel inadequate. I've been there. There are many days that I feel I should have the t-shirt that says, "Warning! Inadequacy approaching!" Well, the good news within The Good News is that God's strength is made perfect in our weakness! All we have to do is submit and let Him work. (2 Cor. 12:9, Heb. 13:21)

Psalm 37:5 tells us, "Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and he will act." What a relief! We can just rest in HIS power and rely on His Promises to do His perfect will in and through us. Trust Him, and He WILL go into action in and through you! All you have to do is believe in His ability and rely on it going forward.
