When you were a little kid, your favorite voice was likely someone who was close to you—like a parent, an aunt, your grandfather, or maybe even a favorite babysitter or older sibling. Whoever it was, when they spoke, you listened, and you likely tried to obey.
But as we get older, we sometimes stop listening to those important voices in our lives and instead, turn our attention to the voices and influences around us. While there’s nothing wrong with that on the surface, Moses reminds us in today’s verse that to truly be free, we still need to obey authority. And not just any authority, but the authority of the God who loves us and wants to help us live free. True freedom comes when we obey the One who loves us above all else.
This week, lean into God’s voice by praying and asking Him to help you hear His direction above the others around you.

About this Plan
It’s easy to see faith as just a list of dos and don’ts we have to keep in order to make God happy. But what if this view of faith is missing the mark? We’ll discover that Jesus didn’t come to keep us captive to a list of rules. In fact, just the opposite is true! Because of Jesus, we get to live as free people.
