Walking With JesusSample

An Eternal Perspective
The first church had an eternal perspective. They understood that they shouldn’t only focus on earthly things, they realised they were eternal beings. They lived every day as if it was their last and greeted each other with “Maranatha!” which means “Our Lord Jesus come!”
We will give account on the Day of Judgment. There will be two judgments: one for the believers (the judgment seat of Christ) and one for unbelievers (eternal judgment). The judgment of believers will mainly consist of God giving reward according to what we have done. The Christian life is not a sprint over a short distance, but a marathon. It is not about how you start the race, but how you finish it.
Remember: Everything you do in this life echoes in eternity.
Reflection questions (write your answers in a journal):
- What would you do differently if you knew Jesus was coming back at twelve o’clock tonight?
- What are the natural things you still trust in that keep you away from being eternally-minded?
