The Neighbourhood as Told by MatthewSample

As a community, we are called to share God’s gift of salvation to the world. We are called to testify about the incredible works God has done in our lives. In a world full of confusion, doubt, and fear we hold the answer, Jesus. 

Think for a moment about an exciting time in your life, something you’ve been very proud of. For some of us it might be finishing university, getting married, starting a new job or business, buying a home or the excitement of raising a child. These milestones are important, and deserve celebrating.

I have noticed that what we choose to share on social media, and talk to our friends about are these moments, the experiences and memories that are most important to us. This really challenged me to reflect on my conversations with others, and what I choose to post on social media. Is my voice being used solely for selfish gain, or am I using it to share the precious gospel of Christ?

God has changed my life and done incredible works in my heart time and time again. He has saved me from a life of sin and graciously redeemed me so I can be in relationship with Him for eternity. This is the best news and is the most important and worthy message to share to everyone around us. 

Sharing the gospel of Christ is so much more than just an exciting moment worthy of celebration. God’s free gift of salvation holds the key to break strong holds, set people free, and ultimately change peoples lives. 

Matthew 5:16 says that we are to let our light shine before others, so that they may come to glorify God. Young Adult's, let’s be a community who share the gospel, and reach the lost so that they may come to know Jesus. We are not called to stay quiet about what God has done; we are called to go public with His message. Be encouraged to take a step of faith, and shine your light so the world will come to know Jesus.  

Prayer: Dear God, thank You for Your precious gift of salvation. Thank You for sending Jesus to die on a cross for me, so that I can have eternal relationship with You. Please help me to share the gospel to everyone in my life. Lord, please give me faith and courage to reach the lost, and shine Your love and light to everyone. In Jesus name, Amen.
