Bible 2020 The Mission to the WorldSample

The Mission to the World Day 3 of 20
This short verse is full of good news about God. God is patient – “slow to anger”: good news for all of humanity, which falls so short of God’s standards. But God is also just – he “will not leave the guilty unpunished”: good news for all those wronged in the world, and for the many injustices that seem to go unpunished. God is powerful – in the “whirlwind and the storm”: good news for us in our powerlessness against sin and injustice. God is at work in the world pouring out his mercy and his justice.

About this Plan

Beginning with God’s covenants with Noah, Abram and David, these readings explore God’s ongoing mission to restore his broken creation, drawing people back to himself. God’s mission finds its fulfillment in the person and work of Jesus Christ, a mission which the church continues today. Be part of a global movement changing the world around you by reading the Bible aloud for one minute every day.
